Plaque is a thick, sticky material consisting of bacteria
and other matter that is continually forming on your
teeth. Plaque is the primary cause of periodontal (gum)
disease and tooth decay. Plaque should be removed daily.
Is Rota-dent® better than a conventional toothbrush?
University studies have demonstrated the superiority
of Rota-dent in removing plaque from teeth and along
the gum line. It is designed like professional hygiene
equipment used in the dental office and functions in
the same manner.
What about dental floss?
Dental floss is effective for plaque removal if used
at least once daily and used properly. However, a great
number of individuals do not floss daily or properly.
that is why Rota-dent is an asset in your home plaque
control program. It simplifies your efforts.
Why do dentists and hygienists recommend Rota-dent®?
Clinical study after clinical study has demonstrated
the effectiveness of Rota-dent as a plaque removal instrument.
Better yet, dentists and hygienists see the positive
results of Rota-dent when their patients return for
their next visit.
Why does Rota-dent® have three different brush
heads and what makes them so special?
Each brush head is designed for a specific cleaning
function. Your dental professional will explain the
difference when personalizing your homecare program.
Rota-dent patented brush heads are constructed of delicate
filaments that are as soft and fine as human hair.
What makes Rota-dent® different than an electric
Only Rota-dent operates and cleans in the same manner
as the dental hygiene hand-piece. The soft, rotating
brushes gently clean with tooth by tooth precision.
Rota-dent is capable of cleaning areas that are difficult,
if not impossible, for conventional and electric toothbrushes.
Is Rota-dent® safe?
Several university studies comparing Rota-dent to conventional
toothbrushes have concluded that the Rota-dent is just
as safe for the teeth and gum tissue as a manual brush.
Rota-dent is the least abrasive of three other leading
power brushes studied.
Is Rota-dent® easy to use?
It's simple. Let Rotadent do the work for you.
Rotadent's unique brush head design means that all you have to do is guide the brush along your teeth – let it do the work.
- Choose your brush head.
Your dental professional can help you determine which brush head is right for your oral health needs.
- Keep the MicroAccess filaments working
Because the MicroAccess filaments are so thin and dense, toothpaste may be too heavy and thick. It's recommended that you use gel-based toothpaste, mouthwash, or even just water.
- Rotadent will feel different.
And that's normal! You may experience a mild tickling sensation – this means that the MicroAccess filaments are reaching areas other brushes haven't. This will go away within a week or two.
- Use "M" and "W" motions.
Guide the brush tip along your top teeth using "M" motions, and along the bottom teeth using "W" motions.
- The extras
Rotadent has NORMAL and SLOW speed modes, and an auto-shutoff at 2.5 minutes.
Designed for better homecare
Rotadent's proven design effectively removes 92% of plaque in only one minute and reaches interproximally, giving patients a one-step homecare solution.
Rotadent's 360-degree rotation stays in constant contact with the tooth surface, mechanically removing plaque and bacteria.
Rotadent's MicroAccess filaments are 1/3 the size of traditional bristles, meaning easier access interproximally and below the gumline.
Rotadent is clinically proven. Here are 7 facts from clinical studies:
Rotadent increases patient compliance.1
90% of rotary users and 49% of the assorted group remained compliant with recare schedules (six months or less). 69% of rotary patients and 23% of the assorted group presented with good to very good plaque control/oral hygiene.
Rotadent reaches interproximally.2
Rotadent was shown to be significantly more effective in stain removal compared to manual and other power brushes in the study.
Rotadent removes 92% of plaque in the first minute.3
Mean reductions in plaque after 15, 30 and 60 seconds of brushing for the rotary group were 75%, 86% and 92% respectively compared to 64%, 74% and 83% with the control group using manual brushes.
Rotadent requires less brushing force.4
With a manual brush, considerably more force was employed than with any of the tested powered instruments. Among the tested powered brushes, the least force was applied with Rotadent.
Rotadent helps reduce abrasive damage on teeth.5
Rotadent was found to be least abrasive among power toothbrushes in the study.
Rotadent helps reduce decalcification during orthodontic treatment.6
Rotadent reduced decalcification on first molars by 70% for scores of one or greater and almost 100% for scores of two or greater when compared to the control treatment.
Rotadent is safe for all implant surfaces.7
Rotadent is a safe home oral hygiene regimen to use on implant surfaces.

If I wear braces?
Rota-dent's patented brush tip design cleans around
and under orthodontic appliances. University studies
demonstrate Rota-dent's effectiveness in maintaining
the health of gum tissue of orthodontic patients. The
gentle rotating brushes remove plaque from areas that
are difficult for more conventional methods to reach.
If I have had gum surgery, should
I use the Rota-dent®?
Rota-dent helps maintain healthy gums by gentle, effective
removal of plaque. This is beneficial whether you have
had gum surgery or not.
How is the Rota-dent® beneficial if I have dental

maintenance to remove plaque. Accumulation can lead
to gingivitis (gum inflammation) or conditions similar
to periodontitis (gum and bone disease). This can have
a negative effect on the long term survival of implants.

root surfaces of teeth are exposed or extremely sensitive,
can Rota-dent® help?
Conventional brushing is similar to a "scrubbing"
action. The Rota-dent's cleaning effectiveness is derived
from rotary action. This rotary action is excellent
for applying desensitizing agents to the root surfaces
of teeth. The Rota-dent is also effective in removing
plaque from furcations. The patented, smaller brush
tips can access these more readily that conventional
What toothpaste should I use with the Rota-dent®?
It is preferable to use a non-abrasive gel; however,
any toothpaste may be used with your Rota-dent. Many
offices recommend the use of a fluoride gel.
Can others in the family use the Rota-dent®?
Yes, other family members may use the Rota-dent and
are encouraged to do so. It is an excellent plaque removal
instrument that is easy and effective for anyone to
use. Additional brush heads may be obtained from your

A New Level of Oral Hygiene
DioxiRinse contains DioxiCare-Active Chlorine Dioxi, the fastest neutralizer of germs and odors.
How does it work?
It's a gas!
- Chlorine Dioxide (CIO2) is a gas released by the patented DioxiCare System.
- Because it is a small molecule as well as a gas, CIO2 penetrates sockets and spaces between teeth.
- CIO2 begins immediately to neutralize odors and oxidize, virus and yeast.
What Causes Bad Breath?
Bad breath is a condition affecting over 80 million Americans. Temporary malodor, or the more persistent condition known as halitosis, can be caused by certain goods or systemic disease, but more often is due to poor oral hygiene or gum disease.
The warm moist environment of the mouth, with many hidden spaces, is richly populated with more than 500 different types of bacteria. These microorganisms feed on leftover food particles and naturally occurring sulfur containing proteins. Bacteria digest these proteins, which in turn produce the familiar rotten egg smelling gases known as volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs).
How can This Condition Be Improved?
Bad breath can usually be avoided by proper dental care. This includes brushing and mouth rinsing---preferably with an oxidizing product such as DioxiRinse. Why use an oxidizing agent? Because this process combats bad breath using 3 separate mechanisms:
- eliminates existing odors (VSCs)
- kills the germs that produce the odors
- neutralizes sulfur proteins used by bacteria
DioxiRinse helps remove biofilm and debris and rinsing at the back of the mouth avoids the unpleasant need for tongue scraping. Dioxi Rinse can also be used with a dental irrigating device to remove imbedded debris.
DioxiRinse has a unique effervescing action with a fresh mint taste. Routine rinsing leaves your breath feeling fresh and alive.
What causes Gum Disease?
Bacteria, along with plaque buildup causes gum disease, often called gingivitis in its early stages. Gum disease affects an estimated 80% of adults, and left untreated, may lead to gum recession, tooth loss (periodontitis), and potentially other health problems.
How Does Gum Disease Lead to Greater Problems?
Surprisingly, "you teeth and gums can hold important clues to overall health. Studies suggest that people who have gum disease are at higher risk for heart attack and other systemic diseases. If bacteria in the infected gums dislodge, they enter the bloodstream, and attach to plaque in the arteries.
Of further interest, especially for the elderly, "an association between oral conditions such as periodontal disease and Respiratory Diseases has been noted. Recent evidence has suggested a central role for the oral cavity in respiratory infection. The teeth may serve as a reservoir for respiratory pathogens, and oral bacteria can be aspirated into the lungs to causes pneumonia.
Why 2 Parts?
Dioxicare is a 2-part system, which when mixed, produces a bland of several oxidants, including chlorine dioxide. This combination deactivates germs and neutralizes unpleasant odors. Once activated, chlorine dioxide (gas) dissipates over time. DioxiRinse therefore, is supplied in tow parts, combined just before use to assure freshness and effectiveness.
"Active" vs "Stabilized" Chlorine Dioxide
Some products make claim to "stabilized" chlorine dioxide. However, analysis shows that there is little or no chlorine dioxide present in these formulas. What they consist of is sodium chlorite, which does not have the efficacy of active chlorine dioxide, the primary ingredient in DioxiRinse Mouthwash.

"About fifteen years ago I underwent fairly extensive gum resection due to periodontal disease. At the time the Periodontist told me he hoped that my molars could survive for five to seven years since there was extensive tissue damage and still some deep pockets.
...In an attempt to slow down the degenerative gum disease process about two years ago I started using DioxiBrite chlorine dioxide toothpaste and DioxiCare. While this is far from a rigorous scientific study, I can only attribute my improving oral health to the regular use of your products. My current health is very good and I still have the molars that the Periodontist predicted would be long gone. You can count me as a very satisfied customer."
"Just wanted to take a minute to comment on the whitening toothpaste power of DioxiBrite chlorine dioxide toothpaste. I was using a commercial whitening toothpaste and was never satisfied with the results. My teeth were getting progressively darker. I received a sample of DioxiBrite chlorine dioxide toothpaste and began using it twice a day. After 2 days I was surprised by how bright my teeth had become. To test the results, I went back to the commercial toothpaste. Within 2 days my teeth were noticeably darker. I went back to the regimen of the DioxiBrite chlorine dioxide toothpaste and again they whitened up. I am very happy with the DioxiBrite whitening toothpaste.
